FIELD NOTES | ICFJ Supports Our Front Line Medical Research With Fellowship

January 2024  |  Humanitarianbazaar.org

After years developing Humanitarian Bazaar’s War Survivors Advisory to research gaps in global civilian protection in emergencies, the International Center for Journalists awards HB founder Daniel J. Gerstle with the 2024 Health Innovation Journalism Fellowship to focus on how medical teams save lives on the front lines. While started with an initial focus on targeted medical teams in Palestine & Israel, Daniel soon shifted to the Sudan emergency, agreeing to publish the series of stories with Untold Magazine and 3ayin Sudan Media. Mohamed Zakaria, Modther Ibrahim Suleman, Eilaf Mohamed, Mohamed Faisal, and others would take part.
