FILM | Tamana Ayazi’s Film, In Her Hands, Wins Emmy; Cheers to Our former HB Producer
September 2023 | Tamana Ayazi & Marcel Mettelsiefen directed the film. HB highlights the award here. | Humanitarianbazaar.org
Our hero, friend, and former producer Tamana Ayazi, who worked with Humanitarian Bazaar on several projects in Afghanistan, pulled off the miraculous feat of continuing to film a feature documentary about Zarifa Ghafari, a young leader, as the cast and crew were simultaneously evacuating the country under very dangerous conditions. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival one year ago, made it onto Netflix, and now won an Emmy. More importantly Tamana and Zarifa are safer now while many are still coing with the dramatic events.
