We were proud to host filmmaker Abbas Mohammad Ayyoubi presenting first screening of his film, Parvana (Butterfly), for cast and crew in Berlin. The stars Marzia Hashemi, Yalda Safai, Soori Saeedi, and others also spoke. And we even had a surprise apearance from the rapper, Diverse. The film portrays the struggle of women who escape persecution in Afghanistan only to face a parallel repression in the Afghan community in Germany. Parvana struggles to break free. When the film and its behind the scenes are available online, we will post them here.
