VIDEO | Afghanistan: White City’s Space Cadet

We take a look now at a music video filmed on the streets of Kabul, Afghanistan. Ru Owen fronts White City, the progressive punk band created by expats working in Kabul in the mid-2000s, on vocals and bass. Travis “Travka” Beard, the filmmaker and founder of the Sound Central Festival, Afghanistan’s first rock and alternative festival, plays guitar, and aid worker Andreas “Andronik” Steffanson pilots percussion. The video for “Space Cadet” features Humanitarian Bazaar cinematographer and producer Jake Simkin starring as a spaceman arriving to the Hindu Kush only to dazzle kids and order kebab!
